About the Algae: Euglena is a genus of single-celled flagellated green algae belonging to the phylum Euglenozoa. It is an elongated oval shape about 15μm in diameter and one to two flagella. Euglena have multiple chloroplasts and some species appear red due to an excess of carotenoids.
