This is salt for MARINE algae.
Our culture salts are our version of an Artificial Sea Water Media. Our Algae Culture Salts create an artificial seawater with a higher than seawater amount of carbon pH buffer. We use sodium chloride, magnesium sulphate, potassium chloride, calcium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, and sodium carbonate.
This salt supply contains no nitrate or phosphate.
This media kit includes only salts, if you need more than just culture salts, consider one of our many Culturing Kits which contains everything you need to grow a laboratory-grade culture at home or at your desk, or Complete Media Kit (salts + nutrients) to freshen up your algae's environment.
TO GROW ALGAE YOU WILL NEED: A Marine starting culture, chlorine-free water, a growing vessel (such as a 10-gallon fish tank), air supply (small air pump, not the band, but if you could get the band to sing to the culture- that would be amazing!).
