 Our nutrient media is a modification of Guillard and Ryther (1962) original formula for growing freshwater and seawater strains of algae. This complete media kit includes everything to maintain pH and keep your algae happy and healthy!

This media kit includes all the nutrients and salts you will add to water to continue the growth of your algae. If you need all the supplies at once, consider one of our many Algae Culture Kits which contains everything you need to grow a laboratory-grade culture at home

TO GROW ALGAE YOU WILL NEED: A freshwater starting culture, chlorine free water, a growing vessel (such as a 10-gallon fish tank), air supply (small air pump, not the band, but if you could get the band to sing to the culture- that would be amazing!).
