What is in my kit?
Brainy Briny in a Beaker Bag
A 6-week, hands-on marine science experiments that explore the biology and ecology of brine shrimp. In the classroom, they support lessons on life cycles, experimental design, trophic energy exchanges, and population dynamics.
Teaching Microbiology with Microalgae
An introduction to our brand new "bioprospecting" kit where your students can discover their own species of algae. This kit invesigates microbial diversity, evolution, lab techniquers, and experimental methods.
Microplastic Add-on
We included a small amount of fluorescent microplastics and an LED so you can explore human impacts on ecosystems. If you choose to, you can wait until your brine shrimp have grown to adulthood and feed them these microplastics in order to demonstrate bioaccumulation.
Algae Beads
Algae Beads are encapsulated microalgae used to study photosynthesis, respiration, and environmental change in a simple, visual format. In the classroom, they help students investigate how light, temperature, and pH affect algal metabolism.
