Algae in the ocean fixes more carbon dioxide than all the plants on the land.

Middle School, grades 6 through 8

Middle School Physical Science

Algae do more than half of Earth's photosynthesis. Bring them into your classroom.

The water around a vial of Algae Beads changes color as the algae take carbon dioxide out of it in the light and put it back in the dark. That color change is a chemical reaction students can see, time and reverse, which is the evidence this standard asks them to collect.
